I’m the NVSG Road Runs coordinator, and happy to share all the juicy, things-you-need-to-know details right here!
Nevada Senior Games 5K & 10K Road Runs
- Race Name: The Pumpkinman 10K & 5K Run — these are the official races for the Nevada Senior Games
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024
- Start Time: Both distances start at 8 a.m.
- Location: Wilbur Square in historic downtown Boulder City, 30 minutes southeast of Las Vegas
- Why Do This: For fun, with friends, to vie for top awards, and/or to qualify for the 2025 National Senior Games
- How:
- Step 1: Go to NevadaSeniorGames.com to choose your distance (5K or 10K), sign up as an official athlete, and receive 20% discount on your Pumpkinman race fee, courtesy of the race’s organizer, BBSC Endurance Sports!
- Step 2: Go to BBSC’s Pumpkinman Run race page to sign up and to use the NVSG code to save on your fees.
Race Awards & 2025 National Senior Games Qualification
- The first three (3) male and female Nevadans in each 5-year age group beginning with 50-54 will be awarded NVSG gold, silver, and bronze medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes.
- Out-of-state athletes will be awarded the appropriate NVSG medals for their order of finish. They will not displace Nevadans.
- All NVSG runners and walkers are also eligible for BBSC awards.
- Cross the finish line and receive a Pumpkinman finisher’s race medal.
- NEW 2025 National Senior Games Qualification Criteria: Cross the finish line and you will qualify for BOTH DISTANCES at next summer’s National Senior Games!
Easy 2-Step Registration Process
- Step 1: Go to NevadaSeniorGames.com to sign up and pay your registration fee
- This will designate you as an official Nevada Senior Games participant
- You’ll also receive a NVSG T-shirt at packet pick-up (or earlier if you signed up for another NVSG event
- NVSG Registration Fee Schedule:
- $50 for Nevada residents
- $55 for out-of-staters
- No sports fee for either the 5K or 10K races!
- NVSG Registration Deadline: Sunday, Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m.
- Processing fee for paper/mail-in registrations: $10
- Your registration includes a Nevada Senior Games T-shirt
- Additional shirts may be purchased during the registration process
- Step 2: Go to BBSC’s Pumpkinman Run race page. When you sign up for either the 5K or 10K road race, be sure to use the 20% DISCOUNT CODE (courtesy of BBSC!) that appears on your NVSG registration confirmation email.
- This allows you to participate in the Pumpkinman Run event and enjoy all the perks BBSC offers (see below)
More Details You’ll Want to Know
- NVSG Competition by Age Group: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+
- (Age group determined by age as of December 31, 2024)
- Race for NVSG gold, silver, and bronze medals in your age group, receive a NVSG T-shirt, and the chance to qualify for the 2025 National Senior Games.
- Race for BBSC awards, receive a finisher’s race medal and T-shirt, enjoy course support, a post-race meal, and so much more – all provided by one of the most experienced, runner-centered race event management companies in the U.S.!
- PLUS, you’ll SAVE 20% ON YOUR PUMPKINMAN RUN RACE FEE, courtesy of BBSC
- You must sign up with NVSG and BBSC to participate as a NVSG athlete at the Pumpkinman Runs.
- No exceptions!
- While NVSG does not limit the number of participants for either the 5K or 10K, BBSC may have an event cap.
- Be sure to register early to secure your spot!
Event Schedule
The following sections contain information from BBSC’s website. If changes occur, they will email all registered athletes.
- Before arriving at packet pick-up:
- Make sure to sign up with Nevada Senior Games by Sunday, Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m.
- This ensures you’re an officially registered Nevada Senior Games’ participant
- NVSG does not offer late registrations or day-of/on-site sign-ups
- Not sure or can’t find your NVSG confirmation emails?
- Email nvsg-tri-run[at]slowpokedivas [dot] com by Saturday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m.
- Make sure you also signed up at BBSCEndurance.com for the Pumpkinman 5k or 10K. This will save you time and confusion at packet pick-up.
- Not sure or can’t find your BBSC registration confirmation emails? Email BBSC at info [at] bbscendurance [dot] com.
- BBSC accepts late registrations at packet pick-up and on race morning.
Packet Pick-up:
- Set for Friday, Oct. 25 from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Wilbur Square in Boulder City.
- When you arrive,
- First check-in with BBSC. You’ll receive your Pumpkinman T-shirt, bib number, and timing chip.
- Then check-in with the NVSG’s race crew, provide them with your race bib number, and get your NVSG T-shirt.
- Participating in other NVSG events? You’ll receive your T-shirt at your first event.
- It’s vital NVSG has your bib number to track your results on race day!
- We use BBSC’s RaceResultsTM system on-site and via web for results information and determine awards.
Race Morning Check-In
- BBSC’s 5K and 10K race check-in is from 6:30-8 a.m. at their Finish Line Trailer. Be aware BBSC may charge a $10 race day pick-up fee. Double-check this during your registration process at BBSCEndurance.com.
- If you are planning race morning check-in, then email nvsg-tri-run [at] slowpokedivas [dot] com by Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. This ensures your name will be on the NVSG start list!
- Failure to do so will result in a “No Show/Did Not Start” designation and forfeiture of any NVSG awards.
- It will then be your responsibility to submit your results directly to the National Senior Games (nsga.com).
- If you wish to receive your NVSG T-shirt that morning, be sure to mention that in your email so we have it ready for you to pick up that day.
Race Day Schedule
- 8 a.m. – 5K and 10K races start
- 8:45 a.m. (approx.) – At the park’s pavilion, BBSC will begin presenting their awards for all their events – road runs, triathlon, aquabike, and relays.
- NVSG awards will be available to pick up once our race team verifies race results using BBSC’s information. Please be patient during this process.
- Want a hard copy of your race results? Go to the Finish Line tent, enter your bib number into the RaceResultsTM system, and it will be printed out.
- Be sure to get your Pumpkinman finisher medal after you cross the finish line – you earned it!
Race Day Info
- BBSC and Nevada Senior Games highly recommend athletes bring and use the type of hydration, sports nutrition, energy supplements, and other items they are accustomed to during training.
- BBSC will provide:
- Race bib and timing chip
- Aid stations approximately every mile. 5K course will have 3 opportunities to fuel up, while the 10K course will have 6 opportunities. Gels and water will be offered at all run aid stations.
- Finisher medal at the finish line, and post-race meal and nutrition.
- BBSC presents awards to the top 3 overall men and women in each distance, and in 10-year age-group segments.
- NVSG athletes are eligible for these awards, too!
- Headphones are not allowed during the race.
- If you opt to switch from one distance to another (5K to 10K or 10K to 5K) you must notify NVSG via email nvsg-tri-run[at]slowpokedivas [dot] com by Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m.
- Failure to do so will result in disqualification, a “No Show/Did Not Start” designation, and forfeiture of any NVSG awards. No exceptions!
- If you are unable to complete your race, please inform NVSG and BBSC so we all know of your safe return to Wilbur Square.
- Be sure to return your timing chip to BBSC staff to avoid a replacement charge.
NVSG & BBSC – The Fine Print
- The Pumpkinman 10K & 5K Road Races are solely owned and operated by BBSC Endurance Sports.
- All Nevada Senior Games-registered athletes agree to follow the rules and policies set forth by BBSC Endurance Sports and USA Track & Field; follow instructions made by BBSC staff, course marshals, and public safety officials; and abide by BBSC’s decisions regarding disputes, infractions, penalties, changing or canceling the run races due to weather conditions, or other issues that may occur on race day.

- The Nevada Senior Games, a non-profit organization, and BBSC Endurance Sports, a limited liability corporation, are separate business entities, thus requiring their participants to register, pay fees, and accept their terms and conditions via their respective websites.
- Failure to properly register and pay for the Nevada Senior Games and/or the Pumpkinman Runs will result in the athlete not being permitted to participate in the respective event.
- Postponement or cancellation by either Nevada Senior Games or BBSC Endurance Sports may occur for cause(s) beyond the respective organizations’ control. NVSG will communicate the circumstances to its athletes via email.
- Athletes should review the refund policies of the Nevada Senior Games and of BBSC Endurance Sports on their respective websites prior to registration as they may differ.
