On March 31, 2016, I appeared on The Active Life radio show produced by the folks at the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah.

Hosts Kyle Case, CEO, Jeff Harding, director of operations, and I talked about how I got started as an “adult onset athlete,” how much I enjoy this lifestyle, my experience competing in the Huntsman World Senior Games, and more. A heartfelt thank you to Kyle and Jeff for this most enjoyable experience and opportunity!

Post Interview Notes for Clarity:

  • My triathlon coach and personal trainer is Jackie Arcana of XCELL Performance Group in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • I didn’t come up with the term “adult onset athlete” — full credit to runner/author John Bingham a.k.a. “The Penguin” (because of his gait). He is the author of two of my favorite running books:
    • No Need for Speed: A Beginner’s Guide to the Joy of Running (2002, Rodale Books)
    • The Courage to Start: A Guide to Running for Your Life (1999, Atria Books)
  • No, I haven’t done an IRONMAN® triathlon…yet.
