Dreams Come True: Nyad Successfully Completes Cuba-Florida Swim
Endurance swimmer Diana Nyad became the first person to successfully swim from Cuba to Key West in Florida without the use of a shark cage. This was her fifth attempt in 35 years to swim the 110-mile Florida Straits. Her time was 52 hours, 54 minutes and 18 seconds. She was quoted by the New York Times as saying, "“I have three messages.
