RESULTS: Women 65-69, IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship

November 8, 2022 by Bonnie Parrish-Kell

The 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship women’s race took place on Friday, Oct. 28 in St. George, Utah. Americans took the top three places. USA Triathlon Hall of Fame member Donna Smyers won the women’s 65-69 age group championship in 6 hours, 1 minute, and 43 seconds. Joy Rasmussen-Otterman finished 11 seconds behind Donna, and more than 18 minutes ahead of third-place finisher Nancy Smith.

The women’s 65-69 age group had 30 finishers. Each athlete had to complete her race in 8 hours and 30 minutes.

We applaud those who crossed the finish line, and especially those who tried their very best to beat the race’s time deadline! Each woman had trained for months (if not years) and then raced in one (or more!) IRONMAN 70.3 events in an effort to qualify for this championship race. May their dedication, passion, and grit inspire us to achieve our own unique potential for fitness, strength, endurance, and overall health!
