In a November 1, 2016 post on the New Mexico Senior Olympics’ Facebook page, the organization announced its expecting a hit to its 2017 fiscal budget because of continued reductions in the state’s budget. According to its website, the NMSO “is required to fundraise each year to match federal and state dollars.”

Senior athletic events such as the New Mexico Senior Olympics provides us maturing athletes much needed motivation and camaraderie to live an active, healthy lifestyle achieved through participation in our favorite sports. We need to support senior games’ organizations so we can keep playing and making new friends!

Now is a good time of year to think about making a donation whether for tax purposes or for charitable giving. Please support the New Mexico Senior Olympics as well as your own state senior games.
