Today’s lunchtime smoothie blended the flavors of pear, pineapple, strawberry, banana, cinnamon, vanilla, and ginger. The results tasted so good that I’ve called it “Monday Madness.” Sorry no photo because I was too busy drinking it!
Put the following ingredients into a blender and let ‘er rip:
- 1 ripe organic Bartlett pear, cored and chopped*
- 1 ring of pineapple (I used Dole canned)
- 10 frozen organic strawberries (Cascade Farms)
- 1 frozen organic banana, chopped*
- Fistful of mixed greens (baby spinach, baby kale, and Swiss chard)
- 1/2 scoop vanilla flavored whey protein powder (Designer Whey)
- 1/2 cup organic soy milk (Soy Dream enriched, unflavored)
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- About 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
Makes 2 pint-sized glasses.
* I chopped the fruit into smaller chunks to make it easier and quicker to blend.
